"William Alphonso was the 3rd of 4 of children of William Louis & Mary Elizabeth Templeton. He was born in Grayson County, Texas in 1873, we believe William Louis was helping build the new railroad at this time. In 1881 the family moved to Lone Grove, Llano County Texas, where he and his 3 siblings grew up. He married Laura Belle Borden in 1896,they had 11 children, 4 boys and 7 girls. He was a farmer and rancher, he worked his own 320 acres plus helped his uncles (Tempeltons) with their crops and livestock. He had a hard time during the depression and ended up losing his land in the late 30's. He continued ranch and farm work as long as he was able, but finally had to move to Llano where he lived until his death in 1955.
He was a hard working simple man, I never remember him getting too upset when things didn't go good, his favorite slang word was "aw" shaw. I'm sure he said worse but I never heard him. He was almost blind his last years, I'm satisfied he had cataracts which are so simple to cure
these days, but not then, a shame so many people had to suffer from things that are so simple now. "
